This transformation project introduced both process and system changes to replace seven legacy systems with SAP. The changes affected over 600 internal and 300 external users throughout New Zealand.
The challenge
Tactics was asked to develop the documentation and training deployment for three waves of implementation for the Finance, Real Estate and Portfolio Management SAP modules. This was a demanding one-year project requiring a team lead and three instructional designers/trainers.
The approach
We used a competency-based, blended learning delivery model to provide staff with the level of knowledge and skill relevant to their job role. We built operational competence through:
- business process training consisting of process overview, process workflows and work instructions
- role-based classroom system training, and
- short e-learning modules.
We also developed information packs for internal and external parties identified in the business process but who did not need system training. The packs provided information about process changes for areas relevant to these stakeholders.
The result
Training was successfully delivered nationwide to over 900 users. Our client had fast and accurate uptake of the new SAP modules. Tactics also provided post go-live support, and we continue to work with our client to develop training and documentation for further SAP modules as needed.
